July 2019 Club News

And so the new year of club events begin under the guidance of our new Chairman Gerry Kenneally. We wish him and all the new officers all the best for the coming year.

Members are always active, out and about, grabbing any opportunity to catch some fabulous images of places and people around the area and beyond. We have holiday season also so many of our photographers have travelled abroad and we look forward to seeing some of their photographs soon.  On the home front there are numerous activities from Festivals, weddings, scenic tours and local events to capture and enjoy. Great to see such adventure and enthusiasm!

The theme for July was GRAVEYARD/CEMETARY. Congratulations to Ingalill Bergman who took first and second place with her entries ‘Strength from Within’ and ‘Sacred Space’, 3rd place went to John Murphy with ‘What lies Beneath’. Fantastically creative images from everyone showing what could be a morbid theme into a very positive inspiring compostition.

The theme for August is FAVOURITE PLACE(S). So an open competition and it will be interesting to see what people chose. Upcoming themes include FORGOTTEN, LIGHTHOUSE, ARCHITECTURE and LONG EXPOSURE.

We are delighted with all the new members who have joined us recently. We are always open to new recruits!  If you are looking to learn a bit more about photography or just want to join like-minded people who love taking photographs then consider joining us in DEISE CAMERA CLUB!! Why not take a chance and come visit us! Looking forward to meeting some of you soon!

Our next club meeting is on Tuesday 13th August at 7.30pm in The Park Hotel, Dungarvan
