June 2019 Club News

June is always a busy month in the club. Longer days and sunshine make the countryside lush with colour and the seas sparkle like diamonds just perfect for photographs! Members are out searching for that remarkable one moment in any day that makes it memorable.

Annual General Meeting was held at our June meeting and we thank our outgoing officers for their time and dedication in making Déise Camera Club the friendly and inviting club it is. Following detailed reports on the past year we are making plans for the forthcoming year with many projects in the pipeline! We welcome our incoming officers and wish them well in their roles.
President – Sean Byrne; Chairperson – Gerry Kenneally; Vice-Chairperson – Luke O’Brien; Secretary – Mairead Forrestal; Vice-Secretary – Bernadette Blaney; Treasurer – Denis Ryan; Vice-Treasurer – Patricia Hurley; PRO – Noreen O’Brien and Vice-PRO – Mary Herlihy.

The themes for JUNE were monthly: SILHOUETTE and quarterly: OPEN BLACK/WHITE
Congratulations to Treas Cummins taking 1st place with ‘Late Night Chats’, 2nd place Bernadette Blaney with ‘Cattle Calling’, 3rd Brigid Coffey with ‘The Hurler’ all in the monthly competition. Congratulations to Mary Herlihy 1st place with ‘Trulli Italian’, 2nd place Mairead Forrestal with ‘Running on Empty’, Joint 3rd between John Murphy with ‘Three Little Birds’ and Bernadette Blaney with ‘Zebra Glass’. Well done everyone!
The theme for July is Graveyard/Cemetery and upcoming will be Forgotten and Architecture. So keep those cameras clicking!

We are delighted with all the new members who have joined us recently. We are always open to new recruits! If you are looking to learn a bit more about photography or just want to join like-minded people who love taking photographs then consider joining us in DEISE CAMERA CLUB!! Why not take a chance and come visit us! Looking forward to meeting some of you soon!

Our next club meeting is on Tuesday 9th July at 7.30pm in The Park Hotel, Dungarvan.
